WHERE DO WE DIVE?
Place:
Abu Ramada lies away about 60-90 minutes from Hurghada. Where the island stops a long pulled plateau from 20-30m which drops slowly further lies. In the eastern side it drops precipitously and goes over in a vertical wall in the south. Like Umm Gamar there also is here a "Halg" or neck in the eastern side of the island where the boat can often wait.
Sea terms:
Ordinarily too worriedly to be able to moor (except in the Halg) the best is so a current dive. Isolated with southerly wind the boat can moor with the plateau. Most time rules here a very strong current, perfectly for a thrilling dive, but you pay attention to yourselves.
Diving plan:
If you the luck do not have to moor here, make a current dive. Rise directly to the north of the reef in the water and swim immediately to the east to the Steilwand. On your way there you go past to a big coral head with 15-20m. The wall starts with 25 m. A little bit an insignificant hump with the Oberkante is further with 20 m. He is completely made holes and looks hollow. It is he. Follow him down 31 m. There you can dive into a spacious cave which leads chimney-shaped on 25 m. She is just to the north of the place where the plateau goes over in the wall. After the caves you follow the wall after the south. She is vertical and the water has a deep blue colour. If you have a clever captain (and if it the weather permissibly) he has moored with the "Halg" towards of the small beach. There you can finish your dive.
Underwater lives:
There are not here a lot of small fish, but barracudas, tunas and mackerels are widespread. Even sail fish were already sighted here and now and again hammer sharks.
